Hello, not sure if this is a forum subject or not but to get things going I will give this a try. This is my website and I am interested to know what you think of it, the design, layout etc and also especially comments on my work. This website includes paintings old and new, sold and unsold. Is this something you think I should continue with. Should sold paintings be removed from the site or left in place to provide examples of my work.

Should styles and prevous work be removed as I take on and develop through new projects. For example the present  project  series I am undertaken is a new take on previous work and not ready for the market. When the project is completed should past works be relegated to a vaults page ?

I think the web site is good, clear and simple to use. You should definitely leave all work for people to see, sold and unsold. They all show your progression and changes in style as you develop more and more confidence. As to whether you should confine older works to a vault page is a more personal thing. Do you want people not to see these works, or do you, as I said earlier, let people see how you have changed styles and techniques.

Food for thought..... do you think it's 'cheating' to adopt a style similar to famous artists, living or dead. Personally I think there's nothing wrong to adapt your style to the style of other artists, not to copy but adapt.

Norman, thanks for your reply and comments on the forum. As for the style, well I don't see a problem with adapting other styles into your work. I am sure this has occurred throughout the centuries. Just a thought for you, what about showing your work on the category available for this on the forum.

thanks Michelle. Don't think I have room for all the old work but will keep paintings on that represent what I am about now. See www.artwanted.com for all the older stuff.

Ray, I like the slight change in emphasis in the new works, much more concentration in the people. They are paintings that you could stand and look at and read more and more into what's going on every time you look at them. Keep up the good work. Norman
