Borowdale Valley in the lake District is described by Ray as 'probably my favourite place in the Lake District. So many memories here over the years. One particular area with a special place in my heart is the village of Stonethwaite, about 7 miles south of Keswick. I am not sure it ranks as a village as it seems to be more of a hamlet. I am sure I will be put in my place by the locals for that comment, but it was meant as a compliment , honest !'
Snuggled into Stonethwaite is the Langstrath Country Inn and Restaurant. The painting left, walkers and locals alike enjoyng a 'bevy or two' in front of the Langstrath Inn. It can be seen in the Hotel Entrance Hall with another example of Ray's work.
The Langthstrath Country Inn and Restaurant is now owned and managed by Sara and Mike Hodgson.
