Ray's paintings are in the main observations from within the English Countryside, especially the English Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales. Ray captures in his own unique way activities of the local inhabitants and visitors of the area. His subject depicts a way of life, locals at work side by side with the tourist and outdoor activity fraternity. His paintings can be described as caricaturist with a Lowry  influence.
