ray produces paintings specialising in the subject of individuals and events out and about in the mountains, hills,valleys and towns of the countryside.
Introduction
Ray's paintings are in the main observations from within the English Countryside, especially the English Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales. Ray captures in his own unique way events and activities of local inhabitants and visitors of the area. His subject depicts a way of life, locals side by side with the tourist and outdoor activity fraternity. His latest collection depicts large groups of people at events, capturing the occassion in a humorous artistic style.
His paintings can be described as having a Lowry influence but without the sadness !
Peter Woolley, TV artist, describes Ray's work as very unique.
